Cygnar Centurions

Taking a break from Malifaux, I painted some Warmachine Cygnar jacks. Here are my two Cygnar Centurions. So far, after one game, they are tough and can give a walloping. Have not used the magnetic shield to stop charges yet.
They are painted the same as my other Cygnar Jacks. The only addition is the magnetic coils were painted P3 Meridius Blue, then the whole model was washed with Army Painter dark wash, then the coils were drybrushed with P3 Arcane Blue and then a lighter wash of P3 Frostbite applied. I also liked how I gave slightly different paint jobs to each of them. These are the older metal ones, by the way.

Guild Sergeant

The Guild Sergeant used to be a Captain model in the first edition of theWyrd Miniatures for the Guild for the Malifaux game. Now you can have two of him in your forces.
I sprayed with black. Then heavy drybrush of P3 Greycoat Grey than drybrushed P3 Ironhull Grey. Then I went over some black areas in P3 Thamar Black and those areas a light drybrush of P3 Greycoat Grey. On the red areas I used P3 Skorne Red and drybrushed with P3 Khador Red Base. The skin tones were done with P3 Khardic Flash then drybrushed with P3 Midlund Flesh. The leather bits were done in P3 Bootstrap leather then drybrushed in P3 Rucksack Tan.
The leather paints were used for the hair with some blending except the female guard where I used P3 Cygnar Yellow. The gold bits I used P3 Rhulic Gold and metal bits P3 Cold Steel. I then washed everything in GW Devlan Mud and based it like my other Malifaux models with air drying clay.

I know his base is too big. I have since taken him off and put him on a smaller base.

Guild Guard

The Wyrd Miniatures Guild Guard for Malifaux came in two separate sets. The Lucius box set and the Guild Guard blister. They were easy to put together and relatively fast to paint. I kept it close to how they are painted in their picture on the box and blister card.
They are good models but really improve with Captain Dashel, who used to be the Drill Sergent model.

Latigo Pisteleros

The Latifo Pistolero's go with Perdita's Family like...well...family. They add to thier defence and are good at taking out mooks.
They all used the following paints: P3 Thamar Black, P3 Midlund Flesh, P3 Greatcoat Grey, P3 Exile Blue, P3 Ryn Flesh, P3 Bootstrap Leather, P3 Rucksack Tan, P3 Cygnar Blue Highlight, P3 Ironhull Grey, P3 Cold Steel, P3 Solid Gold.

This guy had GW Goblin Green, P3 Necrite Green, 50/50 P3 Necrite Green and P3 Menoth White Highlight.
She had GW Warlock Purple, 50/50 GW Warlock Purple and P3 Menoth White Highlight, and P3 Cygnar Yellow.

He had P3 Khador Red Base and P3 Khador Red Highlight.
They were all washed with GW Devlan Mud. The base was flocked in GW Gravel with IMEX cactus and grass added, as per my Perdita Gang here. Please ignore the facial detail or lack thereof. I still can't get faces right so I don't paint the details on them.

Captain Dashel or Drill Sergeant

Captain Dashel, who used to be the Drill Sergent model, can permit guild guard to focus for free and gain attack bonus flips when near him. Just don't let melee experts get near him! Captain Dashel is a Wyrd Miniatures model for the Guild for the Malifaux game.
Lucius, the Governor's Secretary

Lucius, a Guild and Neverborn model in the Wyrd Miniatures Malifaux game, is a different kind of master.
Being both Guild and Neverborn he has upgrades that can make him a surprise on the tabletop.
I started painting him by spraying him black. Then rough drybrushing P3 Greycoat Grey and drybrushing P3 Ironhull Grey for his pants. I used P3 Thamar Black on his boots and drybrushed them with P3 Greatcoat Grey. I then mixed 50/50 P3 Exile Blue and P3 Menoth White Highlight on his pants and on his gloves. The coat was painted P3 Skorne Red and drybrushed with P3 Khador Red Base. P3 Rhulic Gold was used on the gold parts and metal bits P3 Silver.
His hair was painted with P3 Menoth White Highlight and drybrushed with P3 Morrow White. His hair and gloves were given a GW Purple Wash and the whole model given a wash in GW Devlan Mud. The base was given my streets of Malifaux air drying clay treatment.

I look forward to trying out this model after I play Perdita more in the second edition rules.

Guild Ball - Kickstarter - Second Demo and Funding

My friend and I had a second demo with the newer rules and we like it enough to get involved in the Guild Ball Kickstarter. Our first game I posted here.

After the first goal was scored the plays became fast and furious. There was better editing of the rules and more solidified changes done to the characters. There is a lot of tactics and special plays that we have just begun to scratch the surface with.

So far the kickstarter is funded twice over and have unlocked another team and some special players from the Union, which may become their own team if their funding goals are met. I'm going for the five team package with some add-ons.

Check out the kickstarter yourself, download the free rules, stat cards and cut out standees to see if you like the game.

Gottacon 2014 - Sunday

So on Sunday at Gottacon 2014, I played a quick little card game called Love Letter. It is a quick (15 minutes or so) card gamethat is definitly one to have as a breather between other games or when yu are waiting for everyone to show up to the main event. The lady who taught the game also went through the basics of another one called Rise of Augustus. I liked the concept and speed at which it could be played that I bought one at the convention from Curious Comics's booth.
The Victoria Lego Users Group was here, or VicLUG for short. They are a group of people who expound on the joy and learning that can be had with Lego, including Lego combat. Always fun to see and always makes me realize that I need to take the Lego out of my basement and play with it once in a while.
The video games were here in force with their tooled up consoles or laptops.
Local video game companies were also here to show and sell their wares.

After the Love Letter game and walking around I played in the Sunday Malifaux tournament. Although I lost two and won one it was a big hoot to play. I have been leaning more to Malifaux over Warmachine for this fun factor.

Lastly I picked up some more Malifaux miniatures from Dice Bag Games' stall and called it a day. A great event weekend and will be back next year.
