TerrainCrate Mantic Kickstarter

In April of last year, Mantic announced the start of a kickstarter to fund the production of 28mm Fantasy themed terrain. It was hugly sucsessful and raised almost $630 thousand dollars. I participated and not only has it arrived on my doorstep, it is now available from their website.

Below is what I received.
Here are the sheets explaining what is inside each "crate". They will sell at retail outlets for approximately $140 US dollars. Mantic will be selling the smaller sets inside the larger sets separately. For instance the Library in the Dungeon crate is being sold for $30 US dollars on the Mantic website.
The second side of the sheets. Its a lot of terrain!
Here is a picture of some of the aforementioned library pieces.
 Some pieces of the Tavern.
Some from the Blacksmith & Stables set.
Even though they are for 28mm figs, the 32mm Malifaux and 30mm Warmachine figs fit in just fine.
The terrain will look good for Kings of War, Malifaux, Warmachine and Hordes, Carnivale 2, and some for the Batman Miniature Game. As I paint each set within the crate, I will post them up.

Serena Bowman

Serena Bowman is Neverborn faction model for the Malifaux Miniature game. The model can come back into play at the end of the turn in the model's deployment zone. May also not be charged, ignores pulses, and has an attack that works very well with friendly models with the black blood ability. Can also give friendly nightmare models the black blood ability and had one point upgrades for minions and enforcers that not only make them nightmares but allows them to deploy at least six inches from the enemy deployment zone. Also once Serena kills an enemy model with its melee attack forces the enemy to have to discard a card to attack it till the end of the game.
Primed white. Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed Midlund Flesh, lightly drybrushed Ryn Flesh. Went over some parts of the model's skin with Khardic Flesh to signify the bits altered by Dr McMourning during his experiments. The scar marks painted with Khador Red Base, lightly highlighted with Khador Red Highlight, and another highlight of Heartfire. Dress and shoes painted Gnarls Green, drybrushed Iosian Green, and lightly drybrushed Wurm Green. Jacket painted Umbral Umber and drybrushed Iridian Flesh with jacket trim painted Iridian Flesh. Hair painted Khador Red Base, drybrushed Khador Red Highlight, and lightly drybrushed Ember Orange. Fan painted Jack Bone and drybrushed Menoth White Highlight. Belt buckle painted Quicksilver. Feather in hat painted Beaten Purple and drybrushed mix Beaten Purple/Menoth White Highlight.
Base made with Viktoriana Basius 2 plate painted dollarstore black. Then roughly drybrushed Sanguine Highlight, drybrushed Skorne Red, lightly drybrushed mix Khador Red Highlight/Menoth White Highlight. Outer Rim painted Beaten Purple.

Nurses

These are Nurses for Malifaux. They are part of the resurrectionist faction but can work for Dr McMourning and Jack Daw. They give out poison at close range which is deadly for enemy models but can be good for some friendly ones who benefit from them. Can also heal, give melee buffs, movement buffs, and armor. The models pictured here are the two first edition metal models and the two second edition ones from the Body of Evidence crew box but can be purchased separately. The two in the middle are the plastic ones.
Primed white. Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed Midlund Flesh, and lightly drybrushed mix Ryn Flesh/Sulfur Yellow. Reason for the Sulfur Yellow is that in the background fluff, their boss, Dr McMourning, has gifted women with the skins of beautiful dead women in exchange for assisting him in the morgue and with his extra curricular experiments. The skin has to be replaced once in a while so wanted a little bit of "getting old skin" look. Gross I know but it fits the Malifaux theme.
Nurse outfits painted Menoth Whight Highlight and drybrushed Morrow White. Trim painted Thamar Black. Red painted Skorne Red and drybrushed Khador Red Base. Metal done with Cold Steel. Syringes painted Necrotite Green. Shoes painted Coal Black and drybrushed Underbelly Blue. The jars one nurse has are painted either Meridius Blue or Frostbite.
Blonde hair painted Heartfire, drybrushed Sulfur Yellow, and lightly drybrushed Cygnar Yellow. Black hair painted Thamar Black, drybrushed Coal Black, and lightly drybrushed mix Coal Black/Menoth White Highlight. Brown Hair painted Battlefield Brown, drybrushed Iridian Flesh, lightly drybrushed Beast Hide.
Bases are from the first edition Malifaux line and are metal bases. I'm sure they will come back in some form in their new plastic bases that they are developing. Tile painted Trollblood Base, drybrushed Meridius Blue, lightly drybrushed Arcane Blue, and an even lighter drybrush mix Arcane Blue/Menoth White Highlight. Concrete painted Cryx Bane Highlight, drybrushed Trollblood Highlight. Metal painted Cold Steel and highlighted Platinum. Wood painted Battlefield Brown, drybrushed Bloodstone, and lightly drybrushed Rucksack Tan. Rats painted Thamar Black, drybrushed Cryx Bane Highlight, and lightly drybrushed Trollblood Highlight. Tails painted Carnal Pink. Eyes painted Khador Red Highlight.
On the base I made organs and blood pools with Kneadite. Reason is to better adhere the model on the base. Organs textured with dental tools, painted Sanguine Highlight, and drybrushed with Carnal Pink. Blood pools brushed with Skorne Red, and dappled with Khador Red Highlight. Entire model washed with Agrax Earthshade then dabs of GW Blood for the blood god applied. Outer rim painted with Iosian Green.

Jaakuna Ubume

Jaakuna Ubume is a resurrectionist model for the Malifaux game. It is a model designed to hold other models in place and keep objectives.

Primed white. Painted the skin of the figures with Khardic Flesh, drybrush mix Midlund Flesh/Wurm Green, and lightly drybrushed mix Ryn Flesh/Wurm Green. Painted Jaakuna's dress Sulfur Yellow and drybrushed mix Sulfur Yellow/Menoth White Highlight. Girl's dress painted Cygnar Base Blue, drybrush Cygnar Blue Highlight, lightly drybrushed mix Cygnar Base Blue/Menoth White Highlight. Hair painted Thamar Black, drybrushed Coal Black, lightly drybrushed mix Coal Black/Menoth White Highlight. Chains painted Pig Iron and highlighted Cold Steel. Dress sash painted Iridian Flesh and drybrushed Beast Hide.

Base water painted Trollblood Highlight, drybrushed Meridius Blue, lightly drybrushed Arcane Blue, and an even lighter drybrush mix Arcane Blue/Menoth White Highlight. Lilypads painted Ordic Olive, drybrushed Iosian Green, lightly drybrushed Wurm Green and Necrotite Green. Bubbles painted Menoth White Highlight. Then the whole model was washed with Agrax Earthshade, water Arcane Blue, and dress Seraphim Sepia. The lily pads were then lightly drybrushed with Necrotite Green. Outer rim painted Iosian Green.

Crooked Men

The Crooked Men are Resurectionist models for the Malifaux miniature game. Has low melee that can paralyze, decent ranged attack that can poison, and zero action that makes your enemy take damage from your nearby scheme markers. These are the first edition metal models.

Primed white. Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed mix Midlund Flesh/Wurm Green, lightly drybrushed mix Ryn Flesh/Wurm Green. I added a bit more Wurm Green than I should of so these Crooked Men are a little more ripe looking than my other undead models. Pants painted Exile Blue, drybrushed Cygnar Blue Highlight, lightly drybrushed mix Cygnar Blue Highlight/Menoth White Highlight. Boots painted Umbral Umber, drybrushed Beast Hide. Belts painted Beast Hide and drybrushed Rucksack Tan. Belt buckle painted Quicksilver. Woods painted Umbral Umber and drybrushed Bloodstone. Metals painted Cold Steel. Hair painted Cryx Bane Base and drybrushed Cryx Bane Highlight. GW Blood for the Blood God used for the open wounds.
