Basing Lilith Gang

Now that i've finished the models for the Neverborn Lilith's gang, its time to base them. In the card pictures of the studio, they are depicted as rising up through cobblestone streets. I didn't think i could get that level of detail so i went with a cleaner look.
Above they are just glued to the base.

Here they are after applying an air-hardening model clay.
This is the clay I used.
I used old dental tools from my wife's dental office. They've come in handy more than once. See if your personal dentist can set aside some for you.

I sculpted a manhole cover on the mature Nephilium's base.
After applying the above to the base, i just made lines going across and then staggered lines perpendicular to them to form the cobblestones.
After 24 hours drying, i painted the stones with GW Chaos Black.

Then some dark dollarstore brown. The manholecover was painted GW Dark Angels Green.

The light pole was also painted GW Dark Angels Green, then all the cobblestones were drybrushed with dollarstore reddish brown.
The manhole cover and pole were drybrushed with GW Catachan Green.

Then I used P3 Ironhull Grey and P3 Cold Steel on the manhole cover and the metallic bits on the pole. I then used P3 Arcane Blue to paint the glass bits on the pole. Then i used a Testors Neon Yellow enamel on the pole for lighting effects. It gunked up my brush so i'll have to use paint thinner to clean it.

After a coat of GW Devlan Mud wash on the bases and poles, i painted the outer bases with GW Lich Purple for the Neverborn faction color. Now the finished products...

I glued the Cherub to the pole and pewter bits under the base to weigh it down. Then used the Testors Neon Green to put lighting effects on the Cherub.

 And on the back too.

So there it is. Next will be the Guild's Perdida gang and a few other models for an even fight. More to come.

Malifaux Cherub

Well, last of the Malifaux Neverborn to paint, for now, is the Malifaux Cherub. He (It) is Lilith's totem with the ability to cast Lilith's spells through it and stop other models with the power of love (Huey Lewis song reference. Also a Frankie Goes to Hollywood Christmas song. But i digress). It will follow a similar painting theme to the Terror Tots i did.

Here it is primed. So angelic...so deceptive.
The Wyrd Miniatures studio paint job.
I started with GW Red Gore.
 Then drybrushed GW Scab Red.
 Next drybrushed GW Elf Flesh.
The bow was painted GW Mitherel Silver.
The eyes painted GW Red Gore. The wings were washed in GW Ogrun Flesh and then GW Gryphon Sepia. That's it.
 From behind. Scandalous.
A little simple model. Now to base the Neverborn models.

Mature Nephilium

So carrying on with the Wyrd Miniatures Malifaux Neverborn Lilith Box, here is the Mature Nephilium. I carried on with the Terror Tot theme, except since he's fully formed he does not have a lot of bare musculature showing.

Here it is primed. I have the base upside down to have a place to have him stand upright when i paint him.
Here is the studio painted picture.
 Here with GW Scab Red.
The wings got GW scab red too.
 Drybrush GW Elf Flesh.
Then a little bit of drybrushing P3 Frostbite to bring him in line with the Lilith I painted. Also painted the hair GW Scorched Brown.
The hair got drybrushing of GW Bestial Brown, the wing bones/horns/hooves got GW Bleached bone and P3 Meridius Blue for the cloth. GW Blood Red was used for the eyes.
P3 Arcane Blue was drybrushed over the cloth and GW Baal Red was washed over the wings. The GW Ogrun Flesh wash was applied everwhere except the cloth which i used GW Devlan Mud wash on.

Very cool, if i say so myself. Now onto the Neverborn Cherub.
