NexusCon was a demo-centric game convention planned by the owners of the Game Nexus website. Their focus was on providing a smaller convention with no tournaments so local tabletop fans could try out different miniature, board and role playing games. Tickets were limited to 40 persons and started from 10am till 9pm at night on a Saturday.
I myself demoed for Guildball and taught the game to seven persons over five games.
The day started off slow perhaps because of other non-gaming events, like Greekfest just down the street. The initial low attendance was a good opportunity to meet the other demo people and chat about each others game including demos to each other. At around the 3pm mark attendance started increasing exponentially. Final attendance was in the 30-40 person range.
I did demo to more people than I have at local gamestores but that was also due to the longer hours. Overall it was a productive day getting the word out about Guildball and meeting new people.
