I played crokinole when I was young at my grandparents summer cottage. It is played by flicking wooden pieces at opponent's pieces and trying to deflect into them to push them towards the lower scoring areas at the edges while getting yours closer to the middle. If you get in the middle 20 spot, you take it off the board and score it at the end. The pegs around the center 15 point ring add difficulty and awesomeness. It seems like a simple dexterity game but has some strategy to it. Its also fun for all ages.
I picked up a board and pieces at a yard sale, but it was a basic model with basic materials. I rediscovered this game in my storage and tried it with my wife and she liked it enough I decided to upgrade. Below is what I got, from Crokinole Canada.
It also came with a carrying/storage case, wood polish, fast powder, very fast powder, rules, scorecard, wood score pegboard, and tin for when scoring 20's. Its pretty sweet.
