Royal Guard

The Royal Guard are used to defend important models and attack on their own.

Primed black. Painted mix Thamar Black/Skorne Red then drybrushed Skorne Red. The armoured/plastic parts were then lightly drybrushed Khador Red Base. Thamar Black was used on the eye slits and force pike shafts. Cold Steel used on the pistol and pike ends. Gloss was used on the armour/plastic parts.

Base made with Basius 2 Sci-fi plate. Painted dollarstore black, rough drybrush Pig Iron, drybrush Cold Steel, lighty drybrushed Quick Silver. Earth areas painted Umbral Umber, drybrushed Bootstrap Leather, lightly drybrushed Rucksack Tan. Entire models washed with GW Agrax Earthshade.

Imperial Specialists Personnel Expansion - Second Unit

For my second unit of Imperial Specialists, its pretty much the same as the first except...

...I have made a Chiss officer. GW Contrast Apothecary White, dry GW Praxeti White, drybrush Morrow White. Thamar Black on boots and belt. Skin Meridius Blue, drybrush Arcane Blue, light drybrush mix Arcane Blue/Menoth White Highlight. Eyes Skorne Red. Hair Thamar Black and drybrush Coal Black. All else the same.

The droids had a change up of colours. Rhulic Gold on the med droid and Quicksilver on the astromech.

Imperial Specialists Personnel Expansion - First Unit

The Imperial Specialists Personnel Expansion has four handy models, an officer to lead the army and three other models that can be added to units: a communications specialist, medical droid, and astromech droid. All the models were primed black.

The officer was painted Greycoat Grey, drybrushed Cryx Bane Base, lightly drybrushed Cryx Bane Highlight, very light drybrush Trollblood Highlight. Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed Midlund Flesh, lightly drybrushed Ryn Flesh. Cold Steel applied to the metal objects. Holster painted Bootsrap Leather, drybrushed Rucksack Tan, and lightly drybrushed Sulfur Yellow. Rank painted Khador Red and Cygnar Blue Highlight. Boots, gloves, and belt painted Thamar Black. Hair painted Battlefield Brown and drybrushed Beast Hide.

Comms Specialist painted Thamar Black, cloth drybrushed Greatcoat Grey, lightly drybrushed Cryx Bane Base. Metal parts painted Cold Steel. Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed Midlund Flesh, lightly drybrushed Ryn Flesh.

Medical Droid painted Thamar Black, drybrushed Greatcoat Grey. Metal parts painted Cold Steel. Trollblood Highlight used on the grey top, middle, and bottom rings. Skorne Red used on eyes.

Astromech Droid painted Thamar Black and drybrushed Greatcoat Grey. Rhulic Gold placed on gold parts. Skorne Red was used on the eye.

The bases were made with Sci-fi Basius plates. Bases painted Pig Iron, drybrushed Cold Steel, and lightly drybrushed Quick Silver. Dirt areas painted Umbral Umber and drybrushed Bootstrap Leather. Parts of the models had gloss applied. Then the entire model was washed with Agrax Earthshade. Ring painted Trollblood Highlight.

General Veers

General Veers was primed black. Painted Greycoat Grey, roughly drybrushed Cryx Bane Base, drybrushed Cryx Bane Highlight, and lightly drybrushed Trollblood Highlight. Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed Midlund Flesh, lightly drybrushed Ryn Flesh. Armour painted Thamar Black and a gloss painted on top.

 Holster painted Bloodstone, drybrushed Rucksack Tan, lightly drybrushed Sulfur Yellow. Gun painted Thamar Black and lightly highlighted Cold Steel. Rank painted Cygnar Blue and Khador Red Highlight. Metal areas painted Cold Steel. Goggles painted Arcane Blue and streaked with Menoth White Highlight.

Emperor Palpatine

Emperor Palpatine was primed black. Painted Thamar Black, heavily drybrushed Greycoat Grey, drybrushed Cryx Bane Base/Coal Black, Lightly drybrushed Cryx Bane Highlight/Coal Black, and fine drybrush of Trollblood Highlight/Coal Black.

Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed Midlund Flesh, lightly drybrushed Ryn Flesh/Menoth White Highlight. Sulfur Yellow was used in the eye sockets. Cane painted Umbral Umber, drybrushed Bootstrap Leather, lightly drybrushed Rucksack Tan. Cloak clasp painted Quick Silver.

Good Times Games in Prince Rupert

Good Times Games and Electronics is a fantastic community store in Prince Rupert. They sell mostly card, board, and role playing games. They are very engaged with the people of the community and have many parent and kid role playing groups. A great store.

Star Wars Legion - Stormtrooper Paint Scheme

From the starter box, or also available separately here, I wanted to determine what to use to paint the stormtroopers: primed white or primed black. Here are the finished products.

Here they are at the start.

GW Contrast Apocathary White was used on both.

Then a drybrush of GW Dry Praxeti White.

Then highlighted with Morrow White.

Thamar Black applied to the black parts. I then preferred the black primed one but decided to keep going with the primed white one.

After that it was a drybrush of Cold Steel to the guns then a wash of GW Gloss to the armour. The model on the left got a bit of Vallejo Mecha Weathering Oiled Earth applied in some areas to show armor wear then an entire wash of GW Agrax Earthshade. Bases made by Basius plates and painted appropriate colours.

The different bases will also be used to tell different squads apart.

Darth Vader - Nicer, Gentler version

Since I had two Darth Vaders, because of having two starter sets, I decided to have fun with the second one. This one I will use when fighting against another Vader or against Luke/Leia.

Primed white I used the GW Contrast Apocathary White. Then I drybrushed GW Dry Praxeti White and toughed up with Morrow White. The Pink is Game Air Squid Pink. Green is mix Necrotite Green and Menoth White Highlight then drybrushed mix Necrotite Green vs 2 portions of Menoth White Highlight. The Lightsaber blade is Carnal Pink.

I then applied GW Gloss to the armor portions only. Solid Gold was used on the cloak chain, parts of tech, and parts of the lightsaber. Cold steel was used on the other parts. Chest panel and belt buttons were painted Khador Red Base, Necrotite Green, or Cygnar Blue Highlight.

The base was made with a Basius plate. Painted dollar store black, roughly drybrushed Umbral Unber, drybrushed Bloodstone, lightly drybrushed Beast Hide. Green parts on base painted Ordic Olive, drybrushed Wurm Green, and lightly drybrushed Necrotite Green mixed with Menoth White Highlight. A wash of GW Agrax Earthshade was applied to the entire model.

Darth Vader

From the two player starter set is Darth Vader. Primed black. Everything heavily drybrushed Greycoat Grey then the armor parts painted Thamar Black. Then model drybrushed  Cryx Bane Base and lightly drybrushed Cryx Bane Highlight but only on the cloak and inner cloak lining. A GW Badab Black wash was applied to the model and a drybrush of Cryx Bane Base applied to the cloth parts.

Skorne Red used on the lightsaber blade then a drybrush of mix Khador Red Base and Menoth White Highlight. Buttons on the chest plate and belt devices painted Necrotite Green, Cygnar Blue Highlight, or Skorne Red. A GW Gloss was applied to the armor parts. Thamar Black applied to the eyes with dabs of Menoth White Highlight for reflective glare. Other metal parts painted Cold Steel or Radiant Platinum.

For the base a Basius plate was used. Then painted dollar store black, heavily drybrushed Pig Iron, drybrushed Cold Steel, and lightly drybrushed Radiant Platinum.

Morticians - Mourn

Mourn is the third captain for the Mortician's team. It is on a 30mm base. The model makes multiple dodges, can dodge other friendly models, adds TAC to friendly models, and messes up with opponents plans.

Leathers painted Umbral Umber, drybrushed Iridian Flesh, lightly drybrushed Gun Corps Brown. Skin painted Khardic Flesh, drybrushed mix Midlund Flesh/Menoth White Highlight, lightly drybrushed mix Ryn Flesh/Menoth White Highlight/Thrall Flesh.

Candle painted Menoth White Highlight, lightly drybrushed Morrow White. Metals painted Pig Iron and/or Cold Steel and/or Quicksilver. Rat painted Greycoat Grey, drybrushed Cryx Bane Base, lightly drybrushed Cryx Grey Highlight. Rats eyes painted Khador Red Highlight and tails painted Carnal Pink. Hair painted Thamar Black, drybrushed Coal Black, and lightly drybrushed mix Coal Black/Menoth White Highlight.

To make the textured base I used  the Sanctuary Basius 2 plate, painted it dollarstore black, heavily drybrushed Cryx Bane Base, drybrushed Cryx Grey Highlight, lightly drybrushed Trollblood Base. Model was washed with Agrax Earthshade. Outer rim of base painted Greycoat Grey.

Morticians - Veteran Hemlocke

Another player with the Morticians for the Guildball game is Veteran Hemlocke. Its on a 30mm base. Can remove conditions and drops poison.

Hair painted Thamar Black, drybrushed Coal Black, lightly drybrushed mix Coal Black/Menoth White Highlight.

Another player with the Morticians for the Guildball game is Brainpan and Memory (the little guy). They are on a 30mm base. Unusual models, Brainpan can do some movement shenanigans and Memory can cut up its opponents quite nicely.

Another player with the Morticians for the Guildball game is Casket. Its on a 40mm base. Has a zone of rough terrain for enemies,

Morticians - Bonesaw

Another player with the Morticians for the Guildball game is Bonesaw. Its on a 50mm base. Can jog for free at the beginning of his activation, is a great kicker (especially with meditation), and dodges easily from foes.
