Alexia, Mistress of the Witchfire is a cavalry riding, magic wielding lady who gets stronger the more
death she is around. She gets soul tokens when around dying models and can
use the soul tokens to boost attack or damage rolls. She can also make Thrall warriors. She can only have a maximum of three soul tokens on her though.
I
started with a prime coat of Krylon white then a wash of GW Badab
Black. That way the details would show up. Then P3 Thamar Black was
applied to the cloak and horse, then they were drybrushed P3 Coal Black. Then a lighter
drybrush was done with P3 Greatcoat Grey. I used P3 Pig Iron on the
armour and sword but it was too much so I applied a GW Badab Black wash.
Then it was a light drybrush of P3 Cold Steel.
P3
Battlefield Brown was applied to the leather parts with a light drybrush
of P3 Bootstrap Leather. The skirt and clothes were painted with P3
Skorne Red and drybrushed with P3 Khador Red Base and lightly drybrushed
with P3 Khador Red Highlight.
The face was painted with P3 Midlund Flesh and drybrushed with P3 Ryn
Flesh. The horse was given a little undead flesh treatment in the mouth and flank with P3 Khardic Flesh drybrushed on then lightly drybrushed with P3 Midlund Flesh, then a little Ryn Flesh with a GW Gryphon Sepia wash. Then details of the
buckles and sword were painted with P3 Rhulic Gold.
I
then attempted some object source lighting for the sword runes. It is a
magically possessed sword after all. I started with a drybrush of P3
Wurm Green on and around the sword. Then the whole model was washed with
GW Devlan Mud. Then the area around the sword was lightly drybrushed
with Necrotite Green then again with a 50/50 mix of Necrotite Green and
Menoth White Highlight.
The base graves are from an HO scale train gravestone set I purchased over a decade ago. The mounds in front of the graves are done with air drying clay. The hand is a GW Zombie hand. They were painted in dark to light colours of grey, brown and flesh with appropriate devlan mud and gryphon Sepia washes.
I can't use her in the Constance Blaze force I'm currently playing but she will be all ready for my next caster.
